Most agencies spec the Stryker Power-PRO 2 and forget to confirm whether their current fastener system matches the cot before it ships, and that's the kind of oversight that turns a routine purchase into a scramble. The cot is model 6507. Before you sign off, check your mounting setup. It saves a headache later.

What the Stryker Power-PRO 2 Actually Does on a Call

The Power-PRO 2 is a battery-powered ambulance cot with a powered lift system that raises and lowers the cot so your crew isn't doing all the lifting by hand. That matters a lot when you're loading someone heavy at the end of a twelve-hour shift. The listed 6507 configuration is rated for 700 lb and includes the XPS expandable patient surface with its siderails and mattress, and it keeps a manual backup operation for when powered operation isn't available.

Fewer awkward lifts means less strain on the people doing the work day after day, and that's the whole point of a powered cot.

Power-PRO 2 vs Power-PRO XT: Which Model You're Looking At

Here's where buyers get tripped up. The Stryker Power-PRO 2 is model 6507. The Power-PRO XT is model 6506. Different numbers, and confirming the model number stops you from ordering the wrong generation by accident.

If you're trying to standardize a fleet, pick one model and stick with it. Mixing a 6507 and a 6506 across your rigs means your crews have to remember which controls they're on, and in a hurry that inconsistency is exactly what you don't want. Confirm the model on every listing before you commit.

Who's Buying the Stryker Power-PRO 2

EMS agencies make up most of the buyers here. If your call volume is high and your people are moving patients all shift, a powered cot like the 6507 pays for itself in reduced crew fatigue and fewer lifting injuries over time.

Fire departments running medical response buy them too, especially squads replacing an aging fleet. Hospital transport teams and private ambulance services round out the list. Smaller first aid squads watching the budget often go the refurbished route, which is a reasonable way to get into a powered cot without the new-unit price. Condition varies by listing, so read each one closely.

What to Check Before You Buy a Power-PRO 2

Start with the fastener system. The 6507 is configured with built-in compatibility for both Stryker Power-LOAD and Performance-LOAD cot fastener systems, but the cot still has to work with the mount in your ambulance, so verify that up front rather than hoping it lines up. We also list a refurbished 6507 packaged with the 6390 Power-LOAD complete system if you're outfitting a rig from scratch.

Then check your patients. Confirm the 700 lb rating against the patients you actually transport, not the average. And look at the condition on the listing, since the Power-PRO 2 is listed in New or Refurbished condition depending on the product.

If you're outfitting a rig, browse our Ambulance Stretchers alongside the cot so your mounting, loading and transport pieces match. Our Stryker Stair Chairs are worth a look for the narrow-space transfers a cot can't handle, and the broader Stryker catalog covers the rest of the rig. Already running the older model? New vs Refurbished: My Honest Take

A new Stryker Power-PRO 2 gives you the longest runway and no guesswork on wear. If budget allows and you're keeping the cot for years, new is the cleaner buy.

But a refurbished 6507 is a smart middle ground for agencies stretching a capital budget. Check the product description for what the refurbishment covered, and ask us before you order if anything is unclear. Scroll the listings and check the condition on each Power-PRO 2 we have available right now.

Stryker Power-PRO 2 FAQ

Does the Stryker Power-PRO 2 come refurbished?

Yes, it can. The 6507 is listed in New or Refurbished condition, and condition varies by listing. Read the condition on each Power-PRO 2 product page before you order.

Which agencies get the most out of a powered cot like this?

High-volume EMS agencies, fire department medical response units, hospital transport teams, and private ambulance services. The powered lift function is designed to cut down on manual lifting, so the heavier your transfer load, the more a 6507 earns its place on the rig.
